TDs, don’t take the wage increase
It’s shocking that the government has given TDs a huge pay rise – an extra €5,000 per year. Instead of healing some of the wounds austerity has inflicted on us all they’re helping themselves to much needed public funds.
It has already dawned on Ministers that this won’t fly. They’ve just announced that they will ‘voluntarily’ refuse their €12,000 a year increase. Now it’s time for all 158 TDs in the Dáil to do the same.
We’ve only a few days to pile on the pressure before it gets forgotten about. TDs who already feel uncomfortable about the increase need to know we want them to refuse the money. Can you sign this petition asking TD’s to refuse the wage increase, and instead put the money towards public services?
