 Uplift Office Administrator

Uplift is recruiting an Administrator. This is a part time role (18 hours a week). The role involves

Maintain Uplift’s bookkeeping system including processing of all invoices, upkeep of income and expenditure account, monthly analysis, expenses, filing documents

Support Uplift’s Volunteer Support Team ie Zendesk (customer service platform)

Manage donation queries and maintain the donations database including preparation of the monthly donations analysis report.

Help prepare financial reports for Uplifts Finance and HR Subgroup and Board.

Develop and coordinate Uplift merchandise and set up online shop.

Provide support with the organisation of events, logistics and coordination of volunteers for Uplift events ie member meetings, campaign actions.

Support the Uplift team with core admin support including organisation of team and organisational events, logistics, maintaining organisational systems.

Assist the Director in maintaining full compliance with various regulatory processes ie lobbying return, CRO, data protection.

Details

This role is an 18 hours a week role – hours/days negotiable. Salary is €12,865 x 18 hours/week. Location is the Uplift office in Dublin centre with option for some remote working.

 

Essential Criteria

Good knowledge of budgeting and general bookkeeping

Skilled in Excel and/or Google sheets

Competent with Google platform – docs, drive, gmail, forms, calendar

Is super efficient

Excellent organisational skills

Experience in managing volunteers

A problem solving/’get things done’ attitude

Experience in managing operations in a team environment

Campaigns and Communications Volunteer Role with Uplift

Launched less than 2 years ago, Uplift is an independent campaigning community of over 100,000 people. We’re a community of people who believe in the potential for progressive change through people powered action. Our community values are social justice, equality and sustainability.

The Role

In this role you will support Uplift campaigners to develop and win campaigns.

You will help grow people powered campaigns by researching the detail behind issues and potential campaigns, gathering and uploading data needed for successful campaign targeting, participating in campaign planning sessions and generally coming up with creative ideas to make Uplift campaigns fly.

You will help create compelling messages and social media content that connect with a broad range of busy people, that bring alive the values that unite us and that take people on a journey that often starts with a person signing their first petition and ends with a person feeling a powerful commitment to a growing national campaigning community.

We’re looking for someone who

  • A ‘can do’ attitude in an environment that is fast, nimble and innovative
  • A willingness to take risks, is hungry to learn, and is open to being out of your comfort zone
  • Is a team player and has the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Is organised and follow through on agreed plans
  • Is reliable and able to work independently albit with good support
  • Has good experience using a variety of social media platforms and has generated high quality content online sharing
  • Gets excited about people power and the potential of digital technology to connect people
  • Is a good writer and can communicate using succinct and clear language
  • Is adept with technology generally and ideally has some experience with CRM’s, mailer systems
  • Has a logical, evidence based approach to decision making
  • Has experience with people powered campaigning

The following are all a strong bonus:

  • Facilitation and organising skills
  • Graphic design skills
  • Excel and data analytical skills

Location: We have a small office in Dublin and are also open to remote working.

Reporting: You will report to Uplift’s Senior Campaigner

Hours: This is a volunteer role for 25 hours a week, ideally over 4 days.

Expenses: €50 a week is offered to cover costs involved in volunteering with Uplift

Member contributions are really important.  As a member-owned organisation, your support is vital to Uplift’s success. To help protect our independence, the ultimate aim is to run entirely on small donations. We have already started on the road to achieving this goal.  Many people who believe in Uplift have committed to give regular donations: ranging from €5 to €100 a month. Take Action

Uplift is about people-powered action, and one of the best ways of being involved is to help organise activities that help make campaigns successful. Organising community-based events is a really important way of being involved.  This includes meeting politicians to hand in a petition; coordinating a ‘call in’ to a local radio station; organising a rally or a vigil, a film night, a public debate, a house meeting, a town hall meeting or a fundraiser.  Please share your ideas about what you think might work or what you would like to do yourself.
